By: Pavithra Joseph

tailor-made-women

Pretty, frilly dresses,
unsuited to trees
and skinned knees;

stilts for shoes
that cramp toes,
and that wind-swept
Munroe-esque pose.
We learn young
to confuse discomfort
with comfort
