‘Have you seen the sun’s shadow?’ and other poems

By: Taiwo Boluwatife

HAVE YOU SEEN THE SUN’S SHADOW?

Have you ever seen the sun
Riding into its nest?
Settling not to sleep,
But prepare for the next day.

Adjacent the settling sun
Is a blinding flaming round furnace
Fuming from the red devil side
At every chance of an appearance.

The red’s shadow appears
Just to disappear
As the sun wears it’s orange dress.
But it’s moment it will seize
Casting a blinding glare at it’s beholder.

THE APPARITION AND THE BEHOLDER

The apparition sighs
The beholder laughs,
Can’t you behold the sight?
The apparition says
The beholder smiles.

The beholder laughs
The apparition sighs,
Change is inevitable
The beholder says,
The apparition nods.

The apparition continues,
Today won’t apologize tomorrow,
Even after today affects tomorrow.
Beholder : Worry not friend,
Tomorrow is another today,
To the fullest we will live all today.
